I re-watched ‘Anti Christ’ the other day. It confused me just as much this time, as it did the first time I watched it. I’m especially confused because of all the reviews it has gotten; I mean, I’m not the slowest person in the world and I do believe that I know a lot of things (except figuring out antiderivatives and how to differentiate them afterwards) but, really… this movie isn’t a great insight into the truth of the world. It’s an open window into a sick man’s soul, if you ask me. I understand that it symbolizes the worst things in us human beings, but when our main characters *SPOILER/MAIN PLOTS REVEALED HERE* are “getting it on” whilst one of the aforementioned main characters are watching their baby rolling out of the window, then I have offcially lost interest. When the same disturbed, main character cuts off her own clitoris, well, then I’m just sitting there totally confused. On the bright side, though, the movie has the funniest moment known to man; when the fox talks!
Even better is, when this fox is mixed together with the images of ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ (which is a great movie, unlike ‘Anti Christ’!)! Thankfully, I am not the only one that finds this moment oddly funny – my amazingly sweet boyfriend (and extremely patient, since he endures watching all sorts of odd movies with me) thinks this to be funny as well. Viva la fraternité!
